Roadtrip: Milwaukee Art Museum

What do you know? The Thunderbirds just happened to be practicing that day; BONUS!
Secretly I had always imagined that I'd become a world famous manpurse model...

A highlight of this brief summer was a trip to see the Masters of American Comics exhibit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The show was outstanding. Many other comic pros that got a chance to see it said the same. Just seeing the original Winsor McKay Li'l Nemo art was thrilling; the Herriman Krazy Kat pages; transcendental...
I'll post some interior shots of this AMAZING building, but for now here are some exterior shots as the approach was made.

It is astounding how many people who were in Milwaukee at MAM this past weekend. Most I didn't run into, but heard later that they were there. I LOVE the museum itself. We should get a confab of Chicago artists to go up for a roadtrip sometime and just hangout there and see what happens.

On another note, it's great to see the JofF work posted, Tony. Looks tremendous.

i can't figure out if the entryway is some kind of nod to burning man, a venus fly trap, or to a hideous gigantic vagina...

"...hideous gigantic vagina..."

If I ever buy a boat that's what I'm going to name her. Ahoy!

I am originally from Milwaukee and was actually just there visiting family. I am really kind of bummed I missed this exhibit. I knew it was there I was just running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything done I had to and see everyone I had to. Wish I could have seen it.
